After a few quick turns at altitude, you notice every ounce of weight on your body and in your ski gear. While a little extra ski conditioning can lighten your load, you can also shave weight with refinements like these durable and lightweight A12 Ski Poles from Scott. Designed with a cool black-and-silver color scheme and bold font graphics, the A12 is one of the most advanced ski pole designs in Scott's five-model composite pole collection. Unlike the 100% carbon fiber poles, the A12 features a blend of carbon fiber and fiberglass, which saves you a bit of money without adding a lot of weight. It pairs Scott's ergonomically shaped, two-color Notch Strike hand grips with practical 3.6 disc baskets and a rugged ice tip. To keep the A12 poles looking sharp, Scott applied a special edge resistant composite skin that helps minimize scratches and other signs of wear throughout your ski seasons.
If you liked Head's women's all-mountain Every Thang ski last year, you'll love the new women's Every ONE ski for 2009. If features the same design components as the former Every Thang, but in an honest all-mountain design that's ideal taking on a wide range of snow conditions. Think of it as a female-friendly "quiver-of-one" ski for intermediate and advanced skiers who don't want to pay for or pack along extra skis for changing weather and distinct terrain. It's made with Head's AIRCOAT Hollow Glass Technology, the same light and lively design normally reserved for extra pop in pipe and terrain park skis, but this design element is a custom fit that adds extra agility in a lighter profile for women, who don't have to tolerate the same weight loads and stresses applied by guys on their skis. Head also used their Adaptive Intelligence Technology on the Every ONE, which is an easy way of saying that they put these things called Intellifibers at 45-degree angles in front of the ski bindings, so those mechanical impulses created by bouncing around in hard snow turn into electrical energy that stiffens the Intellifibers. When the Intellifibers turn rigid, you enjoy more control with better rebound and ski torsional stiffness. The cool thing is that Intellifibers only stiffen the Every ONE exactly where you need the extra control on the mountain--and not all the way from the summit to the lodge. Another Head innovation found in the Women's Every ONE is Liquidmetal technology. While just about every ski manufacturer now has titanium in their high-end skis, Head's Liquidmetal has a molecular structure that returns power at a ratio of 1:1, resulting in an improved ski rebound and improved turn initiation with roughly 29% more power than energy-absorbing titanium. Ski magazines lauded Head's Liquidmetal component in past seasons for the consistent and predictable rebound, but one lesser-known benefit is that the Liquidmetal is actually liquid, so it doesn't break down like solid molecular ski components that wear out over several seasons of hard use. What that means is that you'll probably be skiing on these Every ONE skis long after everyone else is forced to replace their flat and lifeless all-mountain skis. That's an investment that makes plenty of sense no matter where you like to ski on the mountain.
Wreak havoc on your senses this season, no matter where you ski on the mountain. Head's Great ONE ski is the female-friendly version of their bestselling men's Monster all terrain skis, but the Great ONE has a lighter design with a better balance point for women who love black-diamond runs and other expert's-only challenges. The Great ONE features a snappy sandwich construction with Adaptive Intelligence Technology. That means that Head put these things called Intellifibers at 45-degree angles in front of the ski bindings, so those mechanical impulses created by bouncing around in hard snow turn into electrical energy that stiffens the Intellifibers. When the Intellifibers turn rigid, you feel more control with improved rebound and ski torsional stiffness. The cool thing is that Intellifibers only stiffen the Great ONE exactly where you need the extra control on the mountain--and not all the way from the summit to the lodge. That's an investment that makes plenty of sense no matter where you like to ski down the mountain.

The ideal all-around mountaineering fleece piece - the Denali Jacket by The North Face is as good as it's ever been. Measurement from Center Back: 28 in. I could tell you it was something cool like I left my North Face in the bar apres ski. Or I left my North Face Mens Denali jacket in my girlfriends apartment in Shanghai. Or I left my North Face at a cairn on Macchu Picchu. But the real story goes like this I am 56 - which is short - but handsome as a fella could be. I wear a size small North Face Denali Jacket. I hesitated to buy the small Mens Denali - for the sole reason that some dreaded day - my North Face Denali Jacket Mens would end up in a story just like this One dreadful day in December 2004 - I was on a ski trip in Tahoe and on day one - I walked out of the lodge in my Marmot long undies and my Arcteryx Bibs because I hear the ladies have a thing for bibs - especially Arcteryx ones. And about seven minutes later - after some good exposure - I threw on my North Face Flash Beanie and my North Face Mountain Light Jacket. The red of the North Face flash beanie just really complemented the whole outfit. It contrasted so nicely with the black of the North Face Mountain Light Jacket - that when I threw on my North Face mitts - the whole outfit really seemed like a dream. Looking handsome as hell - I strapped on my helmet and my snowboard and cruised over to the lift line. I had the chairlift to myself and so I began to daydream about how I really ought to publish my poetry. And then it hit me where was my North Face Denali Jacket Mens? How could I forget the magic of the charcoal Mens Denali jacket combined with the red North Face beanie hat and the black North Face Mountain Light Jacket? I wear my North Face Denali every single day - and at a time like this - where was my North Face Mens Denali!? And so I rode down the mountain as fast as I could and headed straight for the lost and found. There was the prettiest girl I have ever rest my eyes upon. The poetry that could arise from that moment. And so I politely and passionately asked if shed seen a North Face Denali Jacket in charcoal. And with such grace she began to look through the lost and found and out of her luscious lips came these words - yeah - weve got one North Face Denali here - but its a small - youre probably a large - right? Ashamed - ashamed of my love for my Denali Jacket - ashamed that I really tell girls that I am 57 - ashamed that I told you I was 56 when I am really 55 - ashamed of my poetry - I told her no - that must be someone elses Denali jacket. She smiled and I walked away - witho
